You could try the mersey gateway site linked to Liverpool Library /
Liverpool Museum. It has lots of great stuff, and plenty of other links
too.

Subject: [ENG-LIV] History

Dear Listers

As I research my family history I find I would like to know more about the
conditions they lived in during the time 1850-1900. As all my family seem
to have come from Ireland and lived in very poor circumstances.

Does anyone know a site/sites that talk about such areas as "The Courts".
Also a building of some sort called Apsley Buildings in Wavertree. Another
one I am interested in is Hills Place also in Wavertree. I have been to a
site about Wavertree History, but it did not seem to cover the down and out
areas.

Thanks

Rita
