No Maged but all my side were Protestants but some Trevaskisses were Bapt. and Married in the Star of the sea in Bootle and I don,t know if this is Catholic ( Incidently my uncle Frank Barlow went to "Major Lester " School about 1910 I have a nice Photo of him in knickerbockers with his friend Mr Clayton )

What a sad story. George. Do you know his religion? I know that around that time Monsignor Nugent's idea was to "Save the Boy" and he and Major Lester opened free schools in Liverpool. There were probably others, too.
One of my Ingham relatives, a little girl Elizabeth age 10, was in the Kirkdale Industrial School on the 1881 census. Would love to learn more about her

Hi Lesley
and a Happier new year to you
If you come across a William Trevaskiss or variants in your travels please let me know as he went to sea at about 12 years of age and was hanged in Nova Scotia for Piracy and Murder on the High seas in 1844 age 22 in his statement to the court he seys "I recieved what little education I have at the free school in Liverpool" but no one seems to know which was the free school in Liverpool at this time his Father John Trevaskiss was in Kirkdale prison for Bancrupcy at about this time
Cheers George
