Hi listers

Sorry if you've got any deja vu here but I posted this (my first message) yesterday and it didn't get sent back to me so I think it may have failed.

I was asking if anyone had access to the 1871 census for the Wilton area (between York and Scarborough). My great grandfather Charles Bell was born that year and I've found a possible family for him with a Charles Bell born in 1871 and the place name given in Winton Cliffe. This name doesn't exist anywhere but there is an area of Wilton called Cliffe. There are also two Charles Bells born in 1871, same quarter, one registered in Scarborough and one in Pocklington. So I want to find out if Charles' father and mother were living in Wilton in 1871. Their names were Henry and Sarah Bell and Charles was their first child. The census probably wouldn't include Charles. Henry would have been about 23 (born 1848)and Sarah 22 (born 1849) in that year. They were both born in Lincs.

It would be really great if anyone could look it up for me or point me in the direction of someone who can!

Thanks in anticipation
Nikki
Name interests: Bell, Hunter, Jeffries in Middlesbrough area
