Hi all,
New to genealogy in this area (done my own locally in Staffordshire &
Cheshire for some time)
Hope I'm on the right list for Scarborough - get a bit confused with 'old' &
'new' ridings, being a 'foreigner' ie not a Yorkshire person!!
My names are -
DWYER - Joseph & Jane - came York (city) around 1851
son HARRY b 1854 Scarborough m Mary Ann PRIEST 1882, Scarborough
Mary Ann b 1861 was daughter of John PRIEST & Isabella LENG (marriage not
found, though probably were married)
John PRIEST b 1823 to John PRIEST & Elizabeth MACKENZIE
Isabelle LENG may be the illegitmate daughter of Mary Leng b 1819
I believe the MacKenzies were shipowners though when they came from
Scotland, or where is Scotland is as yet unknown
Would love to hear from anyone if anything sounds familiar
