Hi, Linda - it's fairly close to Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay as the crow
flies - I'd say about 10 to 12 miles, but over moorland roads which would
lengthen your journey, probably. I'm also interested in your Robin Hood's
Bay connection - I have info about Allisons from Harwood Dale, obtained
forme by a wonderful lady called Mabel Jowsey, that I could forward on to
you if you think it might help. They're all inter-connected with the Fowler
family from that area, who are my main area of interest in North Yorks.
Let me know if you'd like that information.

Would SKS be able to advise where I could find records for the birth of a
Francis Allison born 1786 in Pickering. I have tried the IGI website but
nothing there? Is Pickering any where near either Robin Hoods Bay or
Whitby?
Thank you
Linda
