Hi Peter,
Thanks so much. It wasn't much more than on the monument. Oh well.
Thanks so much for trying. I hope you were successful with your research.
I received news yesterday about the death of Monkman White. He was
killed in an industrial accident. He "fell into the wheel race of the main
driving wheel of the steam engine whilst trying to throw off the main
strip". I guess he was very badly mangled. He was working in a Paper Mill
in Rishworth, near Halifax. I'm still trying to find out what happened to
his family - wife and daughter. I have traced his son, my grandfather
Thomas John somewhat.
It's great to know at least where the records are.
Did you get a photo of the monument yet? Just wondering. No rush.
I really appreciate all your help. It's frustrating being so far away.
I'd just love to be delving into newspapers and whatever right now, visiting
churchyards and churches. Ah well, c'est la vie!!!
Cheers for now,
Hilery
