The photo is possibly of Richard EGLON, who was cox of the Whitby lifeboat.
He was involved in a very well known rescue when the hospital ship Rohilla
went down off Whitby in 1914. My late wife's great uncle was also involved
in this rescue. Richard Eglon was a connection of my wife's family. Contact

Subject: Whitby RNLA
Hello Listers,
I have a photograph that belonged to my parents. The photo is of a man in
the RNLA uniform stood in what might be a backyard. I think his names is Mr
Eglan (or similar) and the photo was definitely taken at Whitby, probably in
the late 1920's or early 1930's. If anybody recognises the name, or knows
anything about the Whitby Lifeboat in the late 20's/early 30's I would like
to hear from them.
