Hi Mary Lou,

Thanks for that link - I had forgotten about Francis Firth, and the Bay Horse may have played an important part in their lives!

I should have said I've already Googled and also checked out English Heritage (http://viewfinder.english-heritage.org.uk/home.asp ) and Geograph (http://www.geograph.org.uk/).
