Quite apart from the practical point that after 23 years the individual
might be dead or have moved, the DPA requires us to remove personal
information from our records when we have no reason to keep it. Of course,
older registers may be out there (and we hold copies), but we encourage
holders to destroy them and keep an up-to-date copy. If a LSL would benefit
from a copy, we would prefer them to be on our library list, then they will
get a new copy every year.
