John and Jorg,
I don't know much about William and Ann(e) but they could well be the William and Ann married at Stowmarket 27th April 1817. Note - both surnames are BARNARD. SRO FB221/D2/11 Marriages 1813-1837 (page 20, entry no. 59). He being bachelor and she spinster by Samuel JONES curate witnessed by Mary ?????? and Robert ENEFER.
I have references on William being a gardener 1819, 1831, 1836, 1852, 1861 and of him being a labourer in 1821. His birth date approximates to 1789. He died 1876 aged 87 years and was buried at St Marys Combs 24th August 1876.
Ann(e) was born about 1794 at Wagworth, Suffolk. In 1881 she was listed as widow aged 87 of Needham or Ipswich Road, Combs. Her daughter Emma BARNARD aged 62, unmarried, was her housekeeper at that time.
Emma BARNARD in 1891 housekeeper, servant, single aged 72 was at the Camping Land at Stowmarket. She was baptised 23rd May 1819 at Combs SRO FB 211/D1/9 (page 15 entry no.118) by Chris. LAWSON Curate.
William BARNARD was baptised 20th April 1821 at Combs SRO 211/D1/9 (page 21 entry no. 164) also by Chris. LAWSON Curate. He married Mary Ann HARVEY at Combs 27th March 1852 witnessed by Caroline BARNARD, Sarah BRUCE and William HARVEY. Mary Ann HARVEY was the daughter of William HARVEY cabinet maker. By 1881 she was living with her daughter and son-in-law at Ipswich.
Jane BARNARD baptised 12th June 1831 at Combs SRO FB 211/D1/9 (page 46 entry no. 361) by Robert LONGE Curate.
Charles BARNARD baptised the same day as his sister above (entry no. 362).
Henry BARNARD born 31st July 1833, baptised 22nd June 1836 at Combs (page 63 entry no. 503) by Richard DANIEL Rector.
Lois BARNARD (daughter) born 23rd May 1835, baptised 22nd June 1836 at Combs (page 63 entry no. 504) also by Richard DANIEL - it must have been cheaper getting them done in pairs! Lois married Robert GIRLING 4th December 1861 at Combs. Robert was a policeman in 1861, the son of William GIRLING, turnpike keeper. Witnesses were William SALMON and Ellen SMITH.
Caroline BARNARD - can find no baptism for her. She married William SALMON, gardener of Stowmarket, son of John SALMON a farmer. Witnesses were Emma BARNARD, Ellen SMITH and Joseph WRIGHT. By 1881 they had three children
I am not sure who William (senior)'s parents were but there is a possibility that he was the son of Charles BARNARD and Ann COE.
I hope this helps,
Ashley.
