Charles Peddar was baptised at Harleston 13th November 1820 son of William Peddar and Susannah nee Steggalls ; and was buried at Shelland 9th April 1847 aged 26 . William was born at Beyton about 1785 ( from the 1851 census ) , Susannah born at Gipping about 1789 .William was buried at Shelland 23rd May 1868 aged 83 , Susannah was also buried there 10th August 1867 aged 78

It is possible that Charles' shop was in one of the villages adjoining Shelland , such as Haughley , Rattlesden , Woolpit , Gt Finborough ; unfortunately I am not able to find him in the 1841 census , which may have given further clues .
