Hi Lisa,
I've just been on FreeBMD and found the following which would lead me to think the surname you're after is NOWILL, see below,
BIRTHS
Jun Qtr. 1845
Fanny NOWILL
District: Sheffield
Vol: 22, Page: 613
Dec. Qtr. 1845
Fanny NOWILL
District: Ecclesall Bierlow
Vol: 22, Page: 117
I have also checked my White's 1841 Sheffield Directory and it lists 3 x NOWILLs, 2 x Williams and 1 x John. If you would like any of these details let me know.
