My goodness, last week was certainly an exercise in housekeeping! A very special word of thanks to the many subscribers who updated their email address and their submissions, and to those who informed me of bouncing emails.

Before I post the list of the defaulters whose bouncing emails resulted in my deleting 38 surnames, let me remind everyone that there is no point asking me if I have a more recent address for a bouncing email. Whenever I am informed of a new address, I change it immediately. Do keep me informed of bouncing addies. When you do so, do send me the email that has bounced so that I can quickly find it among the more than 23,000 entries.

Interestingly enough, this week we are welcoming 38 NEW surnames to the database. Please note that these are not my personal surnames and there is no facility for posting queries or doing lookups. You need to contact each submitter individually. For more general queries and comments, please post to your regular Yorkshire genealogy list.

Now, a heartfelt appeal from me. You know that I am always delighted to welcome new surnames, but for goodness sake, PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES for submitting surnames. If your ISP refuses the form we provide, don't insist and send me blank email after blank email. If you are submitting a surname manually, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. I honestly don't have the time to go over every half-complete submission guessing at emails and contact names, and there has been a rising number of this kind of submission lately.
