Hi John
if you go to www.google.co.uk and search on "emigration from Shropshire" you will get a link to the Broseley web site which forwards you to a journal article. Sorry the address was so long I couldn't get it to copy to include on this.
www.broseley.co.uk will get you to the site but not sure you get from there to the article mentioned in the link

Subject: [ENG-SHROP] 19th century emigration from Shropshire
Hi Listers and a Happy New Year to all,
Does anyone have any information on emigration from Shropshire to Australia
in the late 19th century. The sort of things I'm interested in are: How
much emigration was there, what sort of people left and why, how much did it
cost and how was the voyage financed? Are there any papers or articles
anyone can send me or refer me to. I feel sure someone must have studied
this topic.
One of my ancestors emigrated to Australia in 1898, and for my family
history I want to form a view of how typical or untypical he was.
Thanks in anticipation of your help,
John Raiswell
