Hi Listers...

This is the first OGRE post to the Shropshire list - some of you may already
use the OGRE, some of you may not. The OGRE is a free to all internet web
site which contains genealogical data, eg., trade directories, parish
registers, transcripts etc.

The main thrust of the website is for Wales (primarily MON and GLA) and the
bordering counties where us Welsh may have strayed in the past.

I have recently posted a PDF file for Slaters 1868 Directory of Shropshire
on the site at:

http://www.genebooks.com/shropshire/slaters1868/Shropshire_1868.pdf

containing high resolution scans for the entire directory (though not
currently serarchable). A HTML only version will be available shortly as
well. If you want to use this resource please go ahead - you must have Adobe
Acrobat v5 or above installed to view it. Coming shortly are parish
registers for Hodnet and Weston-under-Redcastle as soon as I finish the HTML
pages to allow you to see the data.
