Jill,
Did Joseph & Frances (nee WILLIAMS) WINDSOR have a Daughter Frances
Elizabeth WINDSOR, b c1848 Bachurch who married Edward PUGH, b 1842 of
Little Ness, SAL? If so I have a little bit that can be added - not a lot as
they are almost off the edge of the page, even on a widescreen monitor, they
are that far away from my "Main Line" of interest.

Graham, Shrewsbury, SAL

Hi Tony

I am researching WINDSORs from Ellesmere. I'll give you some quick
background:

Griffith WINDSOR (my gt-gt-gt grandfather) born about 1787 in Baschurch
- I haven't been able to find his baptism in the parish registers yet,
but I am almost certain that his father is:

Griffith WINDSOR born 1760 in Lee, near Ellesmere, married Ann HAYCOCKS
in 1784 and Jane GREEN in 1802. Father Griffith WINDSOR, born Lee, 1729
to Ann WINDSOR. The latter Griffith (b. 1729) married Hannah (?),
children: Margaret, John, Hannah, Griffith (1760) and Ann, all born
Ellesmere.

Griffith and Ann HAYCOCKS children were: John Davies (d. 1789), Edward
(married Lucy Lawrence, London), Mary, Hannah and Joseph (married
Frances WILLIAMS), all born Baschurch.

Griffith and Jane GREEN children: William (d. 1803), Elizabeth, Sarah,
Ann (d. 1818), Jane, Susan (married Edward FARMER) and Margaret (married
John Simpson JOHNSON), all born Baschurch.

Griffith (b. 1787) married 1) Mary AUSTIN, child: John born 1814, Ruyton
XI Towns 2) Esther OLIVER, children: Hannah (married Isaac STEAD,
Yorkshire), Eliza (married Joseph DODSON, Yorkshire), John (married
Margaret ?, Ann ? and Ellen WARR, Wolverhampton), Edward (married Sarah
CAIN, Cheshire), Ann, Mary, Joseph (d. 1844), Richard (married Emma
GREEN, Shrewsbury) and William, my gt-gt-grandfather, married Sarah EDGE
of Babbins Wood.

I'm also interested in a James WINDSOR who married Elizabeth VAUGHAN in
Baschurch 1818 and was a farmer in Stanwardine-in-the-Fields. He and his
family are buried next to mine which makes me think they must be related
in some way.

I hope the above is helpful. I don't get to Shropshire Archives very
often so my research is progressing quite slowly. I'd be interested to
know which Ellesmere WINDSORs are yours as I'm trying to build up
information about all WINDSOR families in the Ellesmere area.

Best wishes

Jill
