John may have been a loriner, as his son (also John) was a loriner in
London, purchasing a Freedom of the City of London in 1792

Could some kind person going the RO, who has a little spare time, please
look up the following Indexes for me for the name of PURKIS or varied
spellings ie:
Settlement pre 1700 probably in Taunton
Inventories & Wills to c1780
Land Tax Assessments to c1780
or in any other pertinent Indexes.
If I am asking too much, could you please give me the Taunton RO Email
address?
