Subject: [ENG-SOM] A "THORNE"y Question

Hi from New Zealand,
Could SKS help a "Konfused Kiwi" please?

There seem to be at least 3 villages with THORNE as part of their name in
Somersetshire and they are all in the Parish of Yeovil!

I am trying to find information on my first immigrant ancestor George
HARWOOD.

I assume he was born about 1818, as the barque "London" passenger list has
his age as 23 when he embarked on 17 Nov 1841, stating occupation as
Labourer and Shoemaker.

He was married 1839 to Elizabeth EAST____? (MENT/WENT/MONT) at Brympton?
Her age on the passenger list was 27 so assume b 1814.

They had one son James aged 1 in 1841.

If anyone can point me in the right direction for online help, or (if my
luck is in) has information to verify any of the above, or better still, has
George and Elizabeth in their family, I will be most grateful.

Kind regards,
Glen. NZ
