Hello,

Does not every family have one like this.

I am posting this in hopes that some one may be able to give me some
advice on where to look next. I have ordered the films that the LDS library
has and they do not cover the any of the years that he might have been born
in. Nor can I find any record of him in the IGI.

I am looking for information on my gr.gr.grandfather WILLIAM SMITH. A
flyleaf in a family bible published in Oxford, England 1823 lists his
children births and his death in 1864 aged 78 years, 2 mo- 14 days in
Albion, Maine, USA.

Calculating back from that, his birth date would be Oct. 2, 1786 in
Frome, England.

From other family information he was a younger son. By 1828 he was in
Montreal, Canada, dealing in imported silk and worsted fabrics. He married
and his children where born there. By 1841 he was in Albion, Maine.

I have found a Smith family involved in the clothing trade in Frome but
I have no way to find if he is related to them.

Any information or advise would be greatly appreciated.
