Hi Brian,

In 1851, a 2-year-old Henry KEATES, born in Wellington, Somerset, was
living in Taff Street, in the parish of Llanwonno, GLA, in the household of
his parents, coal miner, James KEATES and Caroline KEATES.

His father, James, was 40 and born in 'Claydon' (Clayhidon), Devon, while
his mother, Caroline, was 28 and born in 'Ufington' (Uffculme), Devon.
Henry had a brother, James, aged 8, who was born in Wellington, Somerset
and an 8-month-old sister Hannah, born in Monmouthshire.

A Caroline KEATES, aged 60, of Llantrisant was buried at St. Gwynno's
Church in the parish of Llanwonno on 21st. October 1887.

A James KEATES, aged 80, of Waun yr Erw, was buried at the same church on
28th. April 1880. (There's a discrepancy of 9 years in the age of the James
of the 1851 census and the James who was buried.)

Here's a possible match for a pair of 3x great grandparents for you.

Gordon Beavington's 1851 Somerset census transcription shows that
agricultural labourer, William KEATES, aged 66 and born in Clayhidon, Devon
was living in Wellington. In his household was Mary, a 56-year-old
washerwoman, who presumably was his wife. Children were Mary Ann, a bonnet
maker, aged 19, and Susan, aged 16. Albert KEATES, William's grandson, aged
6, was in the household as was a lodger, Jane FARRANT, a factory worker,
aged 24. All in the household except for William were born in Wellington,
SOM.
