In my searches in the 1881 census for ancestors in Pembrokeshire, I came
across a stray vicar from Chilton Polden in Somerset. Thought it might be of
interest to someone.

Ref: RG11, 5416/34, page 5

Dwelling: Rose Cottage, Dale, Pembroke, Wales

William L STRADLING, widower, age 44, born Chilton Polden Somerset, Vicar of
Marloes L.L.U. CANTAB

He is lodging/visiting the AVESTON family of John, a superannuated
lighthousekeeper(from St Anne's Head) & his wife Mary(née Bowen).

No idea what the L.L.U. stands for. Marloes & Dale are hamlets on the
extreme southern tip of Wales, west of Milford Haven.

Hope this is of some use to somebody.
