ordinary people living in Somerset during the late 17th, 18th and 19th

lived in the small villages around Taunton. Their occupations varied from
ag. labs, farmers, a wreath hurdle maker- (have I transcribed that
correctly - what is a 'wreath!')

Thanks, Lynda
/I picked up a 24 page booklet in the Tourist Information office in Taunton last year when I was down there entitled "Victorian Somerset - John Hodges - Farm Labourer". It was published in 1978 by Friends of the Abbey Barn, Glastonbury and tells the day to day life of a farm labourer during the reign of Queen Victoria. It covers the life of a labourer from birth through to death. Perhaps some of our Somerset residents can advise if, and where, it can still be obtained.
