Hello fellow Somerset Listers,

My name is Ally McRae (nee Jackman) and I live on beautiful Bribie Island in Queensland, Australia. I joined the Somerset list to search for information on my great-great grandmother, Eliza HEADFORD.

Eliza HEADFORD, the daughter of George HEADFORD (a publican) was born in Somerset, possibly in Bath?? in about 1816.

Eliza married Morgan WHITE from the adjoining county of Dorset. They were married in Westminster in 1842. Their daughter, Elizabeth WHITE married my great-grandfather William JACKMAN in Willesden Mdx.

I would like to find out more about Eliza' HEADFORD's origins in Somerset, and I am assuming that her father George HEADFORD was born in Somerset also. As he was a publican, I am wondering if and how I can find out which pub he was publican at?? Perhaps it was in Somerset??

George HEADFORD was deceased by the time of Eliza's marriage in November 1842.

I would be most grateful for any information about the HEADFORD families of Somerset.
