Technically the Poor House at Winford should have been closed when the Union
Workhouse was opened at Long Ashton (the Bedminster Workhouse) in 1836. As
Death certificates didn't start until 1837 there shouldn't have been one
when this death certificate was issued. Not all parishes sold off their poor
houses immediately but it all depends on the date of the certificate.
