Hi Alison,

I've looked at an old transcript of the St James's baptism register from 1780 to 1840, there was no mention of a baptism for William James or any of his children by Sarah Walters.

Incidently you also said that William and Sarah were married at St James during 1834, how sure are you? I couldn't find the marriage when I looked at the marriage register transcript.

However hopefully to end on a positive note I did come across a baptism at St James for a Sarah Walter that took place on the 9th May 1813, parents Joseph and Catherine. Their residence was given as 13 Corn Street and Joseph's occupation servant.
