Hi Carol,

I have BENNETT in Shepton Mallet, but I don't recognise a James BENNETT b
1811.

Mine is a Stephen BENNETT bap Shepton Mallet 10 Aug 1811, born 12 Apr 1810.
Stephen was the son of James BENNETT and Phillis BACHELOR who married at
Berkley SOM on 13 Mar 1786. Other children of this couple were: Martha b
1790, James b 1794, Phillis b 1796, John b 1803, Elizabeth b 1804 and
William b 1807.

If you have any replies off-list Carol, I would be interested in them too.

James BENNETT was born in Shepton Mallet about 1811; his wife Ann was
born in Deal, Kent - according to the 1851 census for Bristol.
His second child, Edward may have also been born in Shepton Mallet
about 1834, the census entries vary.

I would be very interested to hear from anyone who knows anything
more about this family.
