I guess like most people I have finally hit a brick wall in trying to
finalise one of my family trees.

This concerns my grandfathers second marriage and I have been trying to
pinpoint when his second wife (my step grandmother if there is such a
thing) died

I have now obtained their marriage certificate and she was Florrie
Gerrish and married my grandfather Henry (Harry) ROSE in Weston Super
Mare in January 1906

Henry died in Spaxton Somerset in 1925 and then Florrie lived with her
unmarried step daughter May in West Street Bridgwater. for some years

I do know that May died in August 1949 in Bridgwater and is buried in
the main cematary there. My elder sister now 80 remembers that Florrie
died a few years before May she thinks about 1945 and whilst I respect
her memory I have been searching a few years either side without any success

Just as an aside for quite a while I could not find Henry and Florrie
marriage until a researcher checked that a Harry Rose married a Florrie
and this proved to be correct.

I have tried various combinations of surnames to ROSE such as Roes,
Rhodes, Roe, Rodes, Roads, Ross, and Rowe with out success

I would welcome any thoughts as to how to solve this mystery
