Hi Debby - do you have a birth certificate for any of the children? this
should give mother's maiden name which would clarify this.

However, I do see a possible marriage for George PHILLIPS and Louisa DYER in
Clifton 1861 and there is certainly a Louisa DYER born in Winscombe about
the right time, which may be unfortunate for your theory. In 1871 the couple
also have a daughter Emily born about 1862. [I think Winter might be
registered as George Winter PHILLIPS 1869 Axbridge.]
