So you were given the answers - the distance, and no, it is not too far to travel.

However, more to the point is - the Daniel Clark from Somerford Keynes has different parents and birthplace to the details you have about your ancestor.
I would try searching for a Daniel born in Bristol with parents Robert and Mary Ann Clark before considering the one from Somerford Keynes. We all known that information on death certificates is not always correct - but sometimes it is! Admittedly, searching in Bristol for a common surname like Clark is not going to be quick or easy.

I assume you have his passenger record to Australia and that doesn't give anything more detailed about birthplace?
Likewise his marriage certificate (if he married in one of the Australian colonies?} re parents and birthplace.
