Simon,

Thank you for your loooong message. And what a wealth of information. I
have seen your entries on other lists and in Genforum and often wondered if
I should contact you.. I must admit to being ignorant of the exact location
of Chertsey - now I know. The same christian names seem to pop up time and
again with these Searles - very unimaginative weren't they! However, I
can't see an immediate link between yours and mine. Give me some time and I
will do some more digging. I have ordered John Searle's birth certificate
so hopefully that will tell me more. Also on the 1891 census for Surrey I
have found several Searles who show their birth as Bracknell, Berks who
could well be siblings to John.
