Dear Chris and listers....
If you pay a visit to http://www.mcafee.com/ they have an online virus
checker, it takes some time for it to check your entire system. The online
version can also check if there are upgrades available for your programs and
then download them and it will check if your programs and computer are Y2K
compliant. It's a sample deal (and the best possible price.... FREE) and is
only good for 14 days but it's well worth a visit.

Subject: Advice needed
Hi list, have been lurking in the background for a couple of weeks now and
find the advice and help etc. very informative and interesting, being
badgered by family re Christmas presents I thought it would be a good idea
to ask you good folks what are good books for beginners (in England!).
Suggestions please.
To change the subject there were some postings re viruses as I have just
cleaned my previously infected system, I strongly STRONGLY advise you to
ensure that you have got the latest updates for your virus checker program -
you do have one don't you- . If using the ubiquitous Windows and or Office
programs pay a visit to Microsoft's Webb site for their latest security
patches. That point applies even if you have just installed the latest issue
of Windows 98 as some of the patches have just been released.
I thought I was safe and good old Ethan.A caught me and my 4 month old virus
checker out.
