Hello Jenny,
Looking up the 1900 A-Z Victorian London map I find Old street
has two hospitals:

St Luke's Lunatic, Old Street, EC. and the most likely for a
birth certificate City Lying-In, 102 City Road, EC
The Lying-In Hospital is actually on the corner of Old and City
Road. That actual block is only a block away from Bunhill Fields
Burial Grounds to the east. This being 1900 reference.

Cheers,
Hilary, Tamworth, NSW
