Hi Caroline,

The Dorking Brickworks were at North Holmwood, with the brick company's
office on the corner of Holmesdale Road and Spook Hill.
I have pictures of the building that housed the manager's house and office.
In the book " Dorking Revisited " by Keith Harding, from Sutton Publishing
Limited, it states that from 1910 it was the house and office, and the
building was altered and extended in the 1930's as a showcase for the
company's brick products.
The pit closed in the 1960's and the site was used for housing in the
1980's.
I used to live just up the road, at Flint Hill Close, and as a young boy, I
remember cutting through the brickworks on a short cut to the common.
Hope this is of help to you, if you want anymore info on the book I will be
pleased to help if I can.

All the best from

Trevor Griffiths in Australind, West Australia.
