Subject: [SRY] Help with name needed- *OYCE *ENNOTT
Date: Tue, 4 Jun 2002 15:18:52 EDT
Hi Everyone
My husband has spent the afternoon enlarging a photo of a Macfisheries shop
taken c 1930's trying to find clues to where it might be situated.
On a chalk board hanging on a wall of the adjoining building he has managed
to decipher what looks like someone's name but he cannot make out the first
letters
* OYCE * ENNOTT
The first name could be FLOYCE and the second LENNOTT but it's just not
possible to make the picture any clearer. There are also some numbers above
the name, my hubby thinks it is 19 &20 but I think it looks more like time
written as 15:30.
Does this name mean anything to anyone?
Could it be an actors or other performers name?
I tried the 1881 census for clues but could not find the name FLOYCE- it
doesn't look like JOYCE or BOYCE, the only other names I could think of that
end in 'oyce'. Nor do I think it is FLOYDE.
A few surnames I found ending 'ennott on the 1881- Bennott, Lennott, Osennett
and Sennott
Does anyone have any idea's???????????
regards
MOIRA- desperate for help!!!
