Subject: Unusual place of birth?
Date: Tue, 15 Mar 2005 20:59:17 EST
Hi all.
I really cannot suppress my LAUGHTER.
I have just been checking the 1901 census for a fairly short road in Croydon.
I cannot name the supplier of the census but it rhymes with Pancestry!
Checking their transcription, what are the chances of 1 census page having 23
people covering 5 different families having the birthplace of
Shetland,Scotland? The 7 English people must have been overwhelmed by all these people, not to
mention their Sheep dogs.
But fear not, good Surrey people. The original shows otherwise.
Please.I mean no offence to any Shetlanders, where ere they may be.
