Version 2 of the British Vital Records Index CDs (16 of
them) are produced by the LDS in a nice presentation package
for about £23 (unless the price has increased recently). I
think it includes a copy of Resource File Viewer (v4 for
Windows XP) which you will need to read the files (if not
included it is available from the LDS for a fiver or so -
but is free with the Mormon Immigration Index which is also
about a fiver). You can phone the LDS Distribution Centre in
Birmingham (that's UK, not Alabama) and order by credit
card. Version 2, by the way, includes all the Version 1
records.
The CDs contain just over 10 million births/christenings and
nearly 2 million marriages in England, Scotland, Ireland and
Wales (not many for Wales) which, for the most part, are not
on the IGI. Coverage by county is shown on the following
web page
