Bob,
Apologies for butting in and I can offer no suggestions for your
information, but I was interested in the WICKS line. A James WICKS
who was likely born around 1770 popped up in Croydon circa 1803 -1817
with a Mary (who may have been a Russell or a Brasier) and had at
least one child, Mary Ann Brasier Wicks, christened at St John 29
August, 1817. I have not found a marriage and do not have a clue
where James originated although I suspect Crowhurst - but without any
proof. Does any of this rambling fit with what you have found?
