You don't say why you are interested in Mr Shaw, but there is a Shawford Road in W. Ewell and a Shaw Close in Epsom.

I once saw a map showing which bits of land were owned by who. On this map was an area of land owned by Mr J Shaw.

So presumably Mr Shaw was once an important person/landowner in the area.

I will try to discover more!
