I'm interested in this because on the 1881 census my William and Mary
LEFORT (he's a retired barge builder) are living in Almshouses in London,
Middlesex. The adjoining addresses are Queens Head Rd and Essex St. The
almshouse occupants seem to be from all sorts of trades so probably they
aren't specifically for river workers, but does anyone know where this would
have been?
