Hi Roy:
I am sorry to be so stupid. Honestly this genealogy stuff is not good
for me. Dozens of my ancestors have lived in the Birmingham area over the
last 200 years (wish I could find some live ones) and I am afraid I have
started living in the past too much! I am thinking that the Yardley cemetery
is some little country village cemetery!!! I know well how large a city
Birmingham is these days and how it has swallowed up the surrounding villages
over the years. Sixty-four acres would take you some time to cover!!
Here's where I am at the moment. A gentleman named David emailed me
that his father-in-law's grave is more or less next to a HIPKISS grave!!! Of
course, I am amazed at this coincidence and now when *you* tell me how large
the place is, well, I am truly amazed!! Anyway, I have just become aware of
this HIPKISS name and the connection with Yardley, so I have some research to
do before I can be more certain of dates, etc. I don't know where I am going
to go with this because I have what little information at hand from the IGI,
i.e. Daniel GREEN and Mary HIPKISS were man and wife by the late 1700s as
they seem to be the parents of Ann GREEN born in Yardley, who appears to be
my 3xgt.grandmother.
Anyway, further to all that. I see you are from Solihull. Do you
know of any TIMMS in that area? This Ann GREEN marries John TIMMS from
Solihull in about 1826. Then the family moves to Kings Norton and we go on
from there.
Many thanks for the information and description of the cemetery.
I wish you many more blue skies and cherry blossoms!
Jane
