News: William WARRINGTON, Alma Villas, Whitwick, while sitting at home
having his breakfast on Tuesday morning, suddenly fell from his chair &
expired. He was 47 yrs old and had been unwell for some time. He leaves
wife to mourn his loss and as he was a financial member of the Warwickshire &
Leicestershire Miners Association at the time of his death, she will of
course rcv a weekly allowance from the funds of the society

of Baddesley Ensor. Witnesses George CLAMP (hatter) Atherstone, Thomas ROSS,
Grendon (miner), Mark HALES, surgeon, Atherstone. Charles HURST, general
dealer, Birmingham, committed to Warwick Assizes for manslaughter - his trap
ran over her.

1) Coventry, Edward EAST, a traveller, charged with attempt to murder his
wife
2) Mr E PEACOCK, medical officer for Chilvers Coton district of Nuneaton Poor
Law Union appeared before magistrate at Athestone on charge of manslaughter.
Attended Ann WOODWARD, labourer's wife in 11th confinement. Immediately
after delivery he severed protruding intestine, wrapped it in a rhubarb leaf
and placed it in a chamber utensil & deposited it in a privy at rear of
house. Death ensued 2 hrs later. Husband John, labourer, living in
Hartshill, wife 43 yrs old.
