Having only visted Birmingham only once in my adult life, the geography of
the area remains something of a mystery, but as my mother was Brummy I have
trawled through various church records, and I picked up a couple of post-war
marriages that took place at St. Matthews, Duddeston. These carried a note
"for St. James-the-Less, Ashted (demolished in 1941 by enmey action)"
