Hello list,

I am looking for an 1851 census entry for Catherine SEDGWICK, age 72. In
1844 she was living at Wilson House, Lindale-in-Cartmel, not far from
the Westmorland border. She died at the Bridge Inn, Levens, Westmorland
in 1854.

>From the facts available she could have been in Lancashire or
Westmorland in 1851. Marian Young, a very kind lady, has checked the
districts near Levens with the exception of Kendal, Meathop, Heversham,
Milnthorpe, Witherslack and Whitbarrow, without success. Catherine does
not appear in the Cartmel area either. I suspect that she went to live
with one of her children in or around Kendal or in the Furness area of
Lancashire. Can some kind person check the 1851 census for localities
in the Kendal area?
