Not sure where you can get further details from but you have an almost
parallel there with my GGGrandfather.
He was a Sergeant in the Coldstream Guards and stationed in Scotland. He
married a girl from Kendal in Kendal and went back to Liverpool to live. I
also have other relations from the Glasgow area who migrated south to
Liverpool in the mid 1800's so it seems lots of them did it.
I would have thought getting the birth certificate of one of their children
should reveal Susannahs maiden name and she should then be in the 1851
census.
