well, answering the why of my fruitless searches in Parish records came the certificates my sister was kind enough to order:
July 1854: Edward MANN & Mary Ann GARNER married in Providence Chapel of the Primitive Methodists
June 1876: Robert Tilson CRAWLEY & Ann Elizabeth MANN married at the General Baptist Church (Ely Place Crescent Wisbech??)

Where were these churches located?
Are the Church records available anywhere?
