Dear Listers,

A note to explain the difference between the various sites and lists for
Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely and Huntingdonshire. For those of you new
to the list these pages are intended to help you with various aspects of
your research. Up until 1974 Huntingdonshire was a separate county to
Cambridgeshire but has now been merged in Cambridgeshire.

This site is designed as a virtual reference library for Cambridgeshire and
the Isle of Ely which enables researchers to find the location and details
about documents and information pertaining to Cambridgeshire. For each
parish, and each church within that parish, there is detailed information
under the heading 'Towns and Parishes'.

GENUKI - Huntingdonshire - http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/HUN/

This site is designed as a virtual reference library for Huntingdonshire
which enables researchers to find the location and details about documents
and information pertaining to Huntingdonshire. For each parish, and each
church within that parish, there is detailed information under the heading
'Towns and Parishes'.

This site hosts information related to Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely.
Here you will find photographs, information and various details of names
occurring in Cambridgeshire and the Isle. Notably the exercise is to upload
detailed information about people named on war memorials and photographs of
those memorials is now 95% complete. There is information about places,
military history, strays, emigrants and much more plus links to various
other sites that could be useful in your research.

This site hosts information related to Huntingdonshire and the Isle of Ely.
Here you will find photographs, information and various details of names
occurring in Huntingdonshire. Notably the current exercise is to upload

strays, emigrants and much more plus links to various other sites that could
be useful in your research.

very large bookstall covering among other things the 1851 census, parish
register transcripts and monumental inscriptions. Included here are various
searchable databases.

This site details the workings of the Huntingdonshire FHS, details about
Huntingdonshire parishes, contact names, how to join, the programme,
currency rates and a very large bookstall covering among other things the
1841, 1851 & 1819 censuses, parish register transcripts and monumental
inscriptions.

This site details the workings of the Peterborough FHS, details about
the Soke of Peterborough parishes, contact names, how to join, the

Fenland Family History Society -

This site details, by county, researched war memorials for much of Eastern
England and many other places. Each memorial that has been transcribed and
is
listed here has researched information for the men listed (or will have in
some
cases). There is also information about airfields, regiments plus searchable

databases.
