Subject: Hannah [WALTON] -from Bedfordshire or Cambridgeshire?
Date: Sun, 9 May 2004 11:35:04 +0100

To date, I have always thought my Gt Gt Gt Grandmother, Hannah came
from Marston Moretaine in Bedfordshire as her place of birth on all
the census records from 1851 to 1881 state place of birth as "Marson",
Bedfordshire.

There is a christening for a Hannah WALTON, dau. of William & Mary,
on the IGI for 13 October 1811 at Marston Moretaine which is in the right
time frame and ties in with the name of her 1st born, William Walton
CAWTHORN..

Hannah would have married my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather, Joseph CAWTHORN of
Emneth, in about 1830-1833, as their first child, William **Walton**, was
baptised
at Upwell St Peter's on 14 August 1834 + their next 2 children in 1836 &
1840.
BUT I cannot find any trace of their marriage - this is one of my brickwalls
:)

BUT on looking through some old notes taken at the Fenland Museum whilst
looking through the films of the Upwell parish registers, I noted that there
seemed
to be an awful lot of WALTON entries - so could Hannah have been from Upwell
instead?

Any advice, suggestions gratefully received, as always.

Regards, Ann McClean
