Hello List

My interests are CLAXTON in Emneth and West Walton - but they were in
Peterborough by 1841.

William CLAXTON. b.c.1812.West Walton. son of John CLAXTON b.c.1779.Wighton
and Mary (nee??) b.c.1783.Tottenhill.
John CLAXTON. b.c 1822. Emneth - son of the above... John & Mary (nee??)
CLAXTON
Mary Ann CLAXTON. b.c.1824. Emneth - daughter of the above... John & Mary
(??) CLAXTON... married John James Trueman BARNES in 1852.

I think there were other children between William.b.1812 and John b.1822 -
possibly...
Elizabeth 1813
George 1816
John 1816
Thomas 1820
and perhaps Samuel as the name was carried on.

William CLAXTON married Susannah BEAN on 28th Oct.1839 at the Parish Church
of Wisbech St.Peter.
Susannah was the daughter of William BEAN formerly of West Walton.
Witnesses were Samuel CLAXTON and Elizabeth BEAN

In 1851 William, Susannah and their family were in Stilton. Hunts. near
Peterborough.
I haven't found them in the 1861 census but I have found who I think could
be the family in the State Records of NSW list of Assisted Immigrants
arriving in Sydney & Newcastle in 1859 - have yet to send for a copy of the
records.

Would love to find a connection but there are so many CLAXTONs in Norfolk!!

Trudie
