Suberb quality photos. You're quite right in saying it's a very rare sight
these days.
Glad I didn't decide to go and see my friend in Whittlesey last week!

Subject: [WISBECH] Whittlesey Wash is flooded
Hello folks,
Whilst out for a drive today I came across a sight which I have not seen for
years. Whittlesey Wash has been allowed to flood - as it often is during wet
times. However on this occasion the flood waters cover a much larger area as
opposed to an odd field, so much that I think the Thorney to Whittlesey Road
was only reopened today. There are still signs up in Thorney saying that it
is closed. As I had my camera with me I took some photos which because the
event is so infrequent, I have decided to add to the free space given with
my MSN address. The photo's can be seen at
http://intrepidfunseeker.spaces.live.com/ . This was a random name given
when I signed up for MSN years ago and I have kept it.
So if you want a taste of wet fenlands feel free to have a look.
Regards,
