I am desperate for any help that any one can give me, after long research and visits all over England I am now very hot bothered and sweaty, please help me if you can, I will pay reasonable expenses and even reward the first to set me on the right road:
This is the query:
On 11th July 1785 Simon Biddulph (of the famous armiger family) of Halesowen , married an "Ann Burnett" at the Parish Church of Halesowen. The marriage settlement and licence dated the same day shows Mary Burnett as the lawful mother of Ann Burnett the spouse and that they are also of the Parish of Halesowen.
A guarantor in the sum of £1000 (!!) was a signator of Benjamin Partridge who also witnessed the marriage so he must have been fairly well-to-do and in the area.
It is ""believed"" that Ann was the daughter of Captain Thomas Burnett who is ""believed"" to have died the year previous to the marriage.(i.e. 1783-4), it is also thought that Mary, the mother stayed locally to the married couple who went on to have about 9 children in Halesowen, then a further 6 in Staffordshire. In many of the offsring names they had as a middle name Burnett.
It is belived that Mary Burnett (Mother) died locally to the family -
can anyone help me to trace her burial, will, or anything else about Captain Thomas Burnett his wife Mary or daughter Ann
